5 reasons why I like the Calgary Stampede

My first stampede, 2013

Calgary Stampede is a 10-day outdoor entertainment where people dress-up to be cowboys and cowgirls.

It's been my 6th year, but I still come, dress up and enjoy this celebration. Here are my top 5 reasons.

Stampede 2014

1. I love the variety of food in stampede
This year, i have a lists of foods to try. Two of them were the octo lolly and the octo legs.
It's a bit pricey but it was a good experience to try them both.

2. I also look forward to dressing up the "cowboy/cowgirl" attire.
I enjoyed dressing up the part, wearing boots, checkered blouses and jeans. It's not everyday that I wear this things, so it's like having an adult costume party for 10 days.

3. I also enjoyed the stampede breakfasts.
For 10 days, different places in the city will offer pancake breakfasts. So there's no really a reason to be hungry on these days. Aside from the breakfast, you are going to enjoy country music all those 10 days.

 4. I also love to see people from different ethnicity and places join and celebrate stampede as well. This stampede basically unites people together. Not just Canadians come and celebrate stampede, people around the world visit us at this time of the year.

Fact: this year, it was a record breaking number of people visited the stampede park. According to Calgary Herald, day 1 visitor already reached 127,777 people.

5. It offers value days to save a bit on the entrance fee. Although we havent really used it because of work schedules.
