Week 4: family member

For this week, i would like to dedicate this blog to 3 family members that I feel I didnt appreciate much.

1. For Manny, my brother-in-law
He is younger than me. We often tease him as "the millenial". With the age gap, sometimes my husband and I misunderstood him. But one thing I really appreciate about him is that he is always the one who picks up Emma from her dayhome. He can make excuses not to pick her up, but still he does. He is always there when we need him to pick us up, when Mike is unavailable or at work. So, Manny, if someday you're going to read this, Thank you.

2. Mark and Emily, my brother and sister in law, Emma's cool aunt and uncle. They often babysit her like once every month or two. The patience and love they have for her is commendable. I appreciate that they love her, spoil her and teach her.

3. Lastly,my other brother-in-law, Sam.
He is my sister's husband. I appreciate what he is doing for my sister and Matt. I love that he is a hands-on dad.

For all of you guys, if ever you're going to read this in the future, thank you so much for everything. I love you. Mike and I love you.

Week 3: family

52 weeks of Gratitude Challenge
Week 3: Family

Most of the time, we take for granted our families. Sometimes we forget to say "i love you" or "thank you" to them.
This gratitude challenge makes me write down the importance and why I should be thankful for my family.

First, I am thankful for my parents. They taught me a lot of things and they are my spiritual advisors and warriors. I am always confident that they always pray for me. Despite of distance, I know they love me and they really find ways to show it. Mom and Dad, thank you for everything and I love you both. 💕💕

My brother and sister are my first bestfriends and enemies. 😆 We grew up not that close. We are not really very expressive to each other. But as we grew up and maybe because of the distance too, we start to be more expressive to what we feel. I love you both and I know you both love Myk and Emma too. 😊

Then I married Myk👰, and so it's like marrying a family, a clan or a tribe. 😊
I thank the Lord for the Lu family who accepted me as their own family member. 😊 Thank you also for your hospitality especially when my parents came here.
Lastly, us ~ Me, Myk and Emma. 👪 We now have our own family. Emma is really a blessing to us. 👶 She is really a bundle of joy. 💕

I love my family. And  I thank the Lord for families. 💕

(Disclaimer: this was my fb post 3 years ago. And i feel the same way even now, maybe much love and appreciation for the family i have now.)

Week 2: Spouse

I thank the Lord for my husband. He was first my friend then my husband. I've met him June of 2003. We were classmates in bible school in the Philippines. We were also seatmates. I think I like him ever since because with him I can be myself. We talked anything under the sun. He was and is a good conversationalist and a good listener.

                      November 2007

We became good friends and soon became lovers, then engaged. We got married May 4, 2012. We were friends for almost a decade.

                   My graduation in MA 2011

He is a good person, a good friend, a good husband and father to our daughter.
We have our differences like in preferences or personalities. He likes staycation and stay at home on dayoff while I love going out on my dayoffs and vacation days. He likes meat and doesnt eat much fruits, but i love fruits and veggies. He likes action and thriller movies while i love cheesy romantic and documentaries.

We were together as married couple for 6 years already. A lot has changed already. I can say that it's for the better. He inspired me to be a better person, better wife and mom. I thank God for him everyday.

52 weeks of gratitude challenge

Week 1: why start this challenge

This year, I would like to challenge myself to do this challenge. It's not first attempt though. I've tried to do this 3 years ago but unfortunately I wasn't able to finish it.

So the main reason why I want to do this again is for me to actually finish this. And also, I would like to be more thankful this year; to appreciate the beauty of small and petty things.

Hopefully I would be able to finish it this year. 💕

Have a happy new year! 🎉
