More than a year has passed and covid is still here. Restrictions are going on and off. Vaccines are being delivered to people almost everyday. Scientist, researchers, doctors, nurses and all other people in medical fields are doing their best to find the "cure" for this virus.
When the first vaccine came, people are saying that that we are seeing the end of the tunnel. Yet, this virus has been mutating overtime and overnight.
These days, I've known people who have covid, exposed to it, close contact to those with it, isolating, in quarantine, died from it and others survived from it. In a span of one month, I have 2 family members who have died of covid. Covid is really getting close to home. It also really stole the headlines. It's in every news in every places.
It's really very disheartening and discouraging if we just focus on the news about it. The deaths and the pain is so real that it hurts. So where should we put our focus?
Focus on the facts/ truths
1. God is in control of everything. He does whatever He pleases. (Psalm 115:3) His thoughts and plans are different than what we are thinking and planning (Isaiah 55:8-9,). We want covid to stop, but He has His reasons why it's still persisting.
2. God is with us. He is the Immanuel. Even though I walk in the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil because he is with me (Psalm 23:4). He is my good shepherd that will sustain me all the rest of my life. I know that He is good. I know that He will sustain me. He will be with me as I go through pain and sufferings.
3. He is the Resurrection and the Life. (John 11: 25).Since He is the Resurrection and the life, I have a hope that those who died in Christ will be resurrected someday. I have this hope that I will see my family again in heaven.
4. God is always good. He knows what's best for us. He works things together for our good. (Romans 8:28) He is our good Father who will not withhold good things for his children. (Matthew 7:9-11). Whatever is happening to me is because it is for my good.
5. Whatever is happening to me, is because He allows it. (Job 1:12). Everything that happened and will happen to me is already predestined. Before the foundation of the world, my future is already secured (Ephesians 1:4-5). My life is in God's hand (psalm 73:23).
So, these are some the facts that I am holding to. I know pain and suffering is real. I cried a lot when my cousin died a month ago. I cried again like few minutes ago when I heard my uncle died. Pain is so real it hurts.
I can't wait to go to heaven where there is no more pain, sufferings, sickness, and death. (Revelations 21:4). I can't wait to see my Savior and be there.
