I am on my 5th week of home quarantine. Although, it's not really labeled as such. The schools, daycares and some recreational centers closed as early as March 15. Since then, I've been staying at home. I really would love to stay at home with Emma but this was not what I've been thinking of. Here are some thoughts and realizations I have during this 5-week period.
1. People deal with anxiety and worries in different ways, so be kind.
When we had our first case of Covid19 here in Alberta, people have different thoughts about it. There's so many news about it, and people cope with it differently. Some would go worry, fear, panic-buying, extreme social distancing while others really don't care. What I've learned is that you don't dismissed what the other person is feeling about this issue. We have to be kind, to reach out, listen and help other people. This is a good opportunity to contact and ask your friends or family members how they're doing.
2. Everything is uncertain.
We can make plans and goals, but at the end, it's still uncertain if we can attain them. This year on February, we've decided to go to Disneyland on April. We cancelled it on March when the virus became pandemic. With the blink of an eye, everything has changed. Schools, malls, and libraries have closed. Who would have thought that these things would happened? We had full pack schedule on March and April. We planned to watch the concert of For King and Country, planned to do paintball with churchmates, attend a Faith beyond belief conference and others. They were all postponed and moved to a future dates.
3. We have to live one day at a time.
With these Covid19 situation, I've learned to live one day at a time. I've been grateful for what I have, for staying at home with Emma, for the home I have, for the food at the table. I love planning and organizing my days, but everything changes because of this. I've lived one day at a time, one moment at a time, every second and minute is important so best to spend wisely.
4. Use this quarantine time wisely.
It's very easy to be lazy, relax and chill at home during these time. But we should also use this time to finish the book we're reading for a couple of weeks already. Or do some of the things in your bucket lists. On my first 2 weeks of quarantine, I was so excited to do a lot of things. I read, cooked, cleaned, organize and stuff. On the next 2 weeks, I got lazy and to be honest haven't done anything productive. But on my 5th week, I've decided to do something productive again like reading. I've realized we have so much free time these days, when will we going to have this free time again.
5. Worst situations bring out the best in people
Covid 19 brought everybody on their knees. Even the strongest and wealthiest countries suffered from it. Malls, schools, daycares, libraries and even recreation centers were closed. Unemployment or even working from home is the new norm. People suffered not only physically, but also financially.
But despite of that, acts of kindness are seen around the world. Big and small organizations helped people. Financial donations, food drives, and different ways of sharing and caring were seen worldwide. Artists and musicians showcased their talents thru online concerts and presentations.

6. Inspite of all of these, there is still hope.
Of all the things I've realized and learned on this Covid 19 situation is that God is still in control. He knows what we are going through. Miracles big or small are also happening around the world. Number of recovered patients are rising daily. People are helping one another. Churches and christians around the world are praying harder, helping more and working harder. A lot of people are still hoping that things will get better soon.
Hold on tight. We will get through this, one day at a time. Trust in the Lord. He will get us through this. He is in control. He is still on the throne.
